Mark Shedden, FCIP
President
Mark joined the insurance industry in 1979 with one of the largest global insurers. He has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry and is a member of the Canadian Condominium Institute, the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario, holding designations with the Insurance Institute of Canada and Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario.
Mark acts as a Condominium Insurance advisor to the Ontario Provincial Government on insurance issues and the Condominium Act of Ontario. Mark was appointed CEO of Atrens-Counsel Insurance Brokers Inc. in 2009.
Tom Gallinger, FCIP
Senior Vice President
Tom has been in the insurance industry for 14 years in various underwriting, brokering and management roles. As a specialist in Commercial and Condominium insurance, Tom strives to deliver a high level of service by managing the long-term insurance needs of his clients.
In his career with Atrens-Counsel, Tom has done several educational presentations for various industry associations and groups aimed at unit owners, boards, and property managers.
Tom holds an honours bachelor’s degree in business, his Fellowship Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), as well as his Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations.
Shagufta Ahmad
Vice President – Operations & Executive Assistant
Originally from New Jersey, Shagufta began her education in the United States, later transferring to Ryerson University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science (Biology) degree. With multiple years in the medical management field, Shagufta joined Atrens-Counsel in 2013 looking for new opportunities and challenges.
After gaining experience in multiple departments, Shagufta was appointed as Vice President of Operations where she oversees systems, finance, human resources and logistics.
Patrick Maloney, FCIP, CRM
AVP Insurance Operations
Patrick joined Atrens-Counsel in November 2015 as Programs Manager to handle the premier realty program in Canada.
After graduating from the Business Insurance program at Mohawk College, Patrick went on to achieve his Fellowship Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), as well as his Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation from the Global Risk Management Institute.
With 20 years of experience in leadership, underwriting, and marketing commercial and speciality insurance products across Canada, he is focused on ensuring the long term availability, stability, and affordability of insurance to the Canadian condominium market.
Heather Warner, CIP, CRM
Personal Lines Manager
Heather comes from an insurance family and started her insurance career in 1986 as a personal lines underwriter with a major insurance company. She acquired the AIIC (CIP) designation and Canadian Risk Management ( CRM ) designation from the Global Risk Management institute. She developed an interest in the extensive opportunities available with sales and marketing in the broker field.
Heather participated in active roles in two brokerage firms prior to achieving her position as the Personal Lines Manager at Atrens-Counsel Insurance Brokers in 1994.
Instrumental in the creation of the exclusive “Condo Gold”, Heather is enthusiastically focused on delivering top-notch personal insurance protection, and unparalleled service. As an interest, Heather is a passionate equestrian and appreciates the discipline of dressage training, competing and breeding horses on her horse farm.
Krista Fauquier
Commercial Lines Manager
Krista joined Atrens-Counsel in 2009 after obtaining a Master Degree from the University of Windsor. After gaining experience in multiple departments Krista found her calling in the Commercial Insurance and Specialty Lines sphere.
For the past 10 years Krista’s focus has been on supporting the needs of her clients with effective marketing and client centered customer service.
Krista strives to manage the long-term insurance needs of her clients by consistently delivering the most current and comprehensive products available.
